Mr. Lundstrom’s professional background features leadership roles in several emerging technology companies in various industries. Mr. Lundstrom co-founded and served as the Vice President of Operations for Active Control eXperts, Inc. (ACX), a company that designed and manufactured piezoelectric components and systems used to control vibrations. ACX was acquired by Cymer (NASDAQ: CYMI).In the software industry, Mr. Lundstrom founded Ripcord Systems where he was President and Chief Executive Officer. Ripcord Systems developed wireless products and services that provide on-the-road employees with anytime, anywhere access to critical information from corporate enterprise systems. Prior to Ripcord Systems, Mr. Lundstrom was on the start-up team at Teledesic LLC, a company building the world’s first global broadband Internet-in-the-Sky™ network using advanced satellite technology. He has orchestrated fifteen financings for various early-stage companies and has built organizations across Europe and America.

Mr. Lundstrom earned his M.Phil. in Economics from Oxford University where he was a Rhodes Scholar, and an M.B.A. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management. He earned both a B.S. and M.S. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. He has served on the Board of Directors of MIT for a five year term. He also founded and is Chairman of SkiAble, a charity that brings disabled children to sporting activities. Mr. Lundstrom holds 10 patents and has many others pending.

Chip Leveille is an accomplished senior executive with over twenty years of diverse, global management experience in both the public and private life science sector.  His broad background includes responsibility for product research and development, operations, business development, sales and marketing areas. He has a reputation for building and leading strong, multidisciplinary teams and has particular expertise in guiding the development and commercialization of new technologies. His leadership and industry knowledge have led to numerous international speaking and panel presentations at investment, industry, and scientific conferences.

Prior to joining BioScale in early 2009, Chip acted as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Helicos BioSciences where he was responsible for establishing and managing the commercial organization. Chip also served as Vice President of the $110M Global Pharmaceutical Business Unit of Affymetrix while concurrently managing the company’s FDA-regulated research and diagnostic instrument development and manufacturing facility in Bedford, MA. At Affymetrix, he also served as Vice President of the Core Technologies Group and Vice President of Corporate Marketing for the Systems Business Unit. Chip held several executive roles during his 12 years at Zymark Corporation including Director of the Pharmaceutical Development and Quality Control Business Unit, where he helped build a global $25M business. Chip holds a Bachelor of Science, cum laude, in mechanical engineering from the University of Massachusetts.

Brett Masters, D.Sc.

Prior to joining BioScale, Dr. Masters was Vice President of Engineering at Midé Technology Corporation, which creates and sells conformable piezoelectric transducers and packaged piezo actuators. During his tenure at Midé, Dr. Masters led and contributed to device developments for the aerospace, energy, machine tool, sporting equipment and automotive industries, many of which were for well-known commercial clients. Dr. Masters has received several awards for his achievements, including the NASA OAST Commendation for Technology, as well as the 1994 ASME Structures and Materials Award.

Dr. Masters’s educational background includes a B.S., M.S. and D.Sc. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from MIT. He is inventor or co-inventor on 13 issued patents and has 20 pending patents.

Michael Miller, Ph.D.

Prior to joining BioScale, Dr. Miller was the team leader for development of a MEMS-based tunable Fabry-Perot filter at AXSUN Technologies, a company producing optical subsystems for telecommunications and analytical instrumentation markets. His responsibilities at AXSUN spanned the phases of early prototype development, system qualification, and manufacturing scale-up. Previously, Dr. Miller was a Principal Engineer at Physical Sciences, Inc. (PSI), where he worked on diode laser-based gas turbine engine sensors, high-speed propulsion fuel injection and other optical sensors. While at PSI, he initiated several research projects using MEMS technology in applications ranging from airfoil sensor arrays to multispectral imaging filters. Dr. Miller’s doctoral thesis work at Stanford University focused on using imaging techniques to study the effects of compressibility on a turbulent reacting mixing layer.

Dr. Miller earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. He is inventor or co-inventor on 11 issued patents and more than 20 pending patent applications.
